Sony managed to nail most of the presentation, but there were a few things left out. They didn’t show off what the console will actually look like. No design sketches or any other representation of the looks of the device were shown. Sony also conspicuously left out the price point the system will be launching at. With the extremely high price of the PS3 at launch this was a big question on a lot of peoples minds. The other big item left out was what are they using for anti-piracy measures. After some of the patents Sony had filed riled up gamers, this could be a make it or break it issue. Also notable was the lack of backwards compatibility, opting instead for streaming of PS3 games means it is cutting into the used game market. All interesting things to think about as we inch closer to the systems launch.

*Update: Sony told Eurogamer that the PS4 will in fact play used games.

Did you watch the announcement? What do you think of how Sony is handling their new system? What will Microsoft have to do to keep up or surpass them? Let us know in the comments below.
