Xbox One – Everything You Need to Know About the Reveal

In case you missed Microsoft’s big reveal, here is everything you need to know about the newest entry into the Xbox brand.


  • XBOX ONE – the other two don’t count

  • 5 billion transistors, it’s likely that is a combined count from both video and system processors. This is the only processor that we found that had 5 billion MSRP about $2000

  • 8gb ram

  • 801.11n wireless with Wifi Direct

  • Blu-ray

  • HDMI in and out ports
  • 500 GB hard drive
  • Console seems big – reminiscent of old stereos from the 70’s and 80’s, or Tivo st top box. Bigger is better since the “Slimming Lines” was what caused for the units to overheat and melt. More room…more air to circulate. Plus, it’s a BOX as it should be!

  • Kinect comes with each console.

  • No backwards compatibility including all Xbox Live Arcade tiltes. What’s going to happen with Destiny and Destiny pre-orders??

  • Launching by holiday 2013.

  • “Always ready and connected” – does this mean always online?


  • Voice operated power switch that knows your voice. Finally! after 5 years of waiting for it >_>

  • Kinect binds you to the controller you pick up.

  • 1080p camera in the kinect.

  • 2GB per second reading.

  • Kinect recognizes individual voices.

  • Smaller camera.

  • Reads user’s body heat and heartbeat.

  • Recognizes the controller.

  • Instant switching – switch between media by voice instantly.

  • Universal gestures for switching between media.


  • Look at that controller!? The design is very reminiscent of the “DUKE” controller from the original Xbox. Uses new integrated removable battery compartment.

  • Triggers provide dynamic haptic feedback.

 Xbox Live:

  • New area on home screen “trending”

  • Remembers recent activity

  • Skype will be on Xbox One including group video calls

  • Same memberships

  • Gaming DVR built in

  • Achievement based on how you play.

  • Snap mode allows for multiple apps to run simultaniously.

  • Xbox One Guide – Search, favorites, and trending for TV with voice controls.

  • Cell phones are controllers as well.

  • ESPN partnership to include fantasy teams, scores, and highlights all while watching a game.

  • Watch live tv through unit.

  • Works with at least comcast.

  • Changes channel based on voice commands of both channels and shows.

  • Halo – live action television series to be helmed by Steven Spielberg.

  • NFL is combining with XBOX ONE, Fantasy league stats are integrated.

  • Will all NFL games be watchable regardless of local coverage? No idea.

  • great, frames… hello 1996 internet. This will make using GameFAQs easier.

  • XBOX Live will have 300,000 servers at launch of XBOX ONE.

  • Asynchronous matchmaking will match you in games while you play different games, watch tv or movies.



  • FIFA, Madden, NBA, UFC – all coming out in the next 12 months.

  • New engine “EA Sports Ignite” provides true player motion, living worlds, 4 times the calculations per minute, and greater field of vision.

  • Daily stream of new content on Xbox Live.

  • New mode for FIFA 14 exclusive to Xbox One – Ultimate Team


  • Quantum Break is their new game.

  • Choices affect gameplay and outcome.

  • Young girl, Payton, has some kind of powers.

 Microsoft Studios:

  • 15 exclusive games, 8 are new IP’s


  • Forza Motorsport 5 will be a launch title.


  • All COD DLC will launch first on XBOX ONE.

  • Call of Duty: Ghosts was announced.

  • Call of Duty: Ghosts is made by Infinity Ward.

  • Entirely new cast of characters and world.

  • Written by Steven Gaghan.

  • Features a new engine.

  • Dogs are an actually cared about character.

  • Dynamic multiplayer maps featuring earthquakes and player driven consequences.

  • MP customization for your character.
